Introduction to the Idaho Black History Museum: The Idaho Black History Museum is located in Julia Davis Park and was established in 1995 to bring more of people who understand the long history and deep culture of African Americans in Idaho and protect the African American heritage. The museum tells the history and cultural life of black people from their immigration to Idaho to the present day, and displays a series of old photos, masks, handicrafts, etc., reflecting the richness and diversity of African-American culture. In addition to exhibitions, the museum hosts a series of educational programs and public lectures each year that are extremely beneficial in increasing understanding of African Americans. The museum is free to visit and is open to the public from 11:00 to 15:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Advance reservation is required.
