Introduction to the ancient city: Sucre has many buildings of different styles, such as Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, mixed, neoclassical and classicism. They are usually white, and use brick corners, balconies, cast-iron lattice patterns and wooden shutters. The architecture combines local Latin American styles with foreign styles introduced from Spain. They are one of the rich cultural heritage of mankind. In 1991, UNESCO listed the ancient city of Sucre as a cultural heritage and included it in the World Heritage List.
