Architectural introduction: The current castle was rebuilt as it was in 1954 and has generally restored the style of Maria Theresa's period. Most of its more than 570 rooms have been turned into the National Museum of Slovakia, including the history of the castle, Slovak history, ancient treasures, silver treasure troves, as well as many exhibition halls and cultural centers on handicrafts, music history, ancient clocks and more. The central courtyard of the castle also has an amphitheater that can accommodate 2,000 people. The view from the castle of the hazy Danube River in the rain and the old town of Bratislava with its red roofs is particularly poetic.
