Introduction to the Japanese Garden: The representative building of the Japanese Garden is Chokushi-Mon, which was built during the Japan-British Exhibition in 1910. It was not in Kew Gardens at that time. Moved in 1911, this building is modeled on the Karamon in Nishi Honganji Temple in Kyoto and built in 4/5 dimensions. The gate is surrounded by a reconstructed traditional Japanese garden.
