Introduction to Saint Sofia Church: Saint Sofia Church is the second oldest church in the city, dating back to the 6th century AD. It is one of the most precious early church buildings in southeastern Europe. The church was built on the basis of several original churches. The current main hall, two towers on the east side and a domed tower were all built during the reign of Byzantine King Justinian I in the mid-6th century.
