Introduction to Sofia University: Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski was founded in 1888. It is the earliest institution of higher learning in Bulgaria and one of the most important scientific and cultural centers in Bulgaria. There is a bronze statue on both sides in front of the main building. They are the Georgiev brothers who made great contributions to the establishment and development of the university. The school has 14 departments and the academic system lasts for 5 years. The library of the university is the library science research center of other Bulgarian higher education libraries, the teaching base of university library majors and an internship place for library major students.
