Introduction to the Baiyun Temple Soldier Monument: On May 25, 1930, 16 commanders and fighters of the 1st Regiment of the 13th Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army stationed in Baiyun Temple were heavily surrounded by Kuomintang troops. After fierce fighting, they all died heroically. To commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, the local government built a revolutionary martyrs monument and memorial pavilion on the west side of Baiyun Temple.
