Introduction to the Octagonal Pavilion: The Octagonal Pavilion stands at one end of the Chenggong Lake Trail, side by side with the willows hanging on the bank. It is small and unique. This pavilion was jointly donated and built by alumni of the Class of 2008 (graduated in 1936) 40 years after graduation (i.e. 1976). The plaque on the pavilion still contains the famous saying of Mr. Ye Gongchao, the former Foreign Minister of the Republic of China: "He Tao Baji, the Four Orders of Appreciation, Yan said Baji and Four Ranks also means eight levels and forty."
