Introduction to Wenting: Wenting was originally a bell pavilion, which was built when the school was founded. It was set up to order the work and rest of the whole school. There is a large bell in the pavilion, which is four feet in diameter. The sound of the bell is crisp and clear, reaching as far away as Haidian. After the July 7th Incident, Tsinghua University fell into the hands of the Japanese invaders. The campus was severely damaged, the bell pavilion was destroyed, and the big bell in the pavilion and the bronze cannon under the pavilion were looted by the Japanese invaders. Their whereabouts are still unknown. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the school moved north to resume its operations and rebuilt Zhongting. In order to commemorate Mr. Wen Yiduo who was killed in Kunming, the bell pavilion was named "Wen Pavilion".
