Introduction to the Cathedral of Sant'Agata: Cathedrale di Sant`Agata was built in the 11th century AD. It is a Baroque building and is the main church of Catania. The main part of the current cathedral was rebuilt after the earthquake in the 18th century. It was built from the black volcanic rock of Mount Etna and the white limestone special to Siracusa.
