Introduction to Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park: Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park was founded in 1938 during the Japanese puppet period. It is called "Xinjing Zoological and Botanical Garden", commonly known as "Tiger Park" or "Nanling Zoo", and is known as "Asia's No. 1 garden". When Japan surrendered in 1945, all large beasts such as lions and tigers in the park were poisoned and killed. Other animals also starved to death because no one kept them. During the Kuomintang's occupation of Changchun, the park became a training ground for the Kuomintang troops. The facilities and trees in the park were destroyed, and a once prosperous park turned into a ruin with broken walls and overgrown sagebrush. Since 1984, the Changchun Municipal Government has begun planned large-scale restoration and construction work. Today, the park has become an ecological garden loved by citizens and tourists.
