Introduction to the Flower and Bird Lighthouse: The Flower and Bird Lighthouse, also known as the "Flower and Bird Mountain Lighthouse", is the largest lighthouse in the Far East. It is located in the eastern part of the Shengsi Islands, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. The Flower and Bird Lighthouse was built in 1870 as a member of the Maritime Affairs Department of China Customs at that time. One of the first lighthouses to be built in the lighthouse plan, it is also one of the three major lighthouses guarding the Yangtze River Estuary. Because of its long history and majesty, it is known as the largest lighthouse in the Far East.
The Flower and Bird Lighthouse covers an area of about 22,000 square meters. Its cylindrical tower is more than 17 meters high and is marked with two horizontal stripes of black on the top and white on the bottom. The xenon spotlight on the top of the tower sweeps around at a rotation speed of one revolution per minute. , with a range of up to 22 nautical miles, half of the Flower and Bird Island is illuminated by the strong beam of the lighthouse, as if it were daytime. In the event of thick fog blocking the weather forecast and poor visibility, the tower is also equipped with a high-power "fog horn" whose sound can be heard more than 10 nautical miles away to warn ships coming and going.
