Introduction to Chiang Man Temple: Wat Chiang Mun is the first temple in Chiang Mai. There are two Lanna-style monasteries in the temple. There is a standing Buddha in front of the altar. It is the earliest Buddha statue discovered in Chiang Mai so far. There are two very precious Buddha statues in the smaller monastery, Phra Sila and Phra Sea Tang Khamani. Both Buddha statues have the power to make rain. Phra Sila is a relief sculpture, suspected to be a treasure from Ceylon or India in the eighth century, and Phra Sea Tang Khamani is a small crystal Buddha statue 10 cm wide and 15 cm high.
