Introduction to Lingguang Temple: Wat Rong Khun, located 15 kilometers southwest of Chiang Rai, on the road between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. It was funded, designed and constructed by Charlermchai Kositpipat, a well-known Thai artist. It is a white building with a modern style. The exterior is decorated with mirror fragments, and the pediment windows are decorated with Nagas (hydras and gods of the underworld) as well as elephants and umbrellas. Inside there is a huge Buddha mural hand-painted by Khositphiphat.
