Introduction to Teyuan: Teyuan was the residence of Xianying, a famous patriotic democrat during the Anti-Japanese War. It was an important place for the external activities of the Southern Bureau of the Communist Party of China, represented by Zhou Enlai. Famous people and social figures in Chongqing regard Teyuan as the base camp of the democratic movement. They often go to Teyuan for gatherings, and many of them even stay in Teyuan. Mao Zedong visited Teyuan three times and discussed state affairs with democrats such as Zhang Lan, Shen Junru, and Xianying. Teyuan was therefore known as the "Home of Democracy." The special garden was built in the late 1920s and early 1930s. It is located on a slope land that originally belonged to Jiangxi Guild Hall, covering more than 70 acres. There are many buildings in the special garden, the most representative of which are three.
