Wetland introduction: The Pengxi River Wetland below the regulating dam is the first municipal wetland nature reserve in Chongqing. It includes a total area of 36.86 square kilometers of reservoir waters, river waters, and ebb and flow zones at the end of the backwater of the Pengxi River tributary of the Three Gorges Reservoir in the Yangtze River. Wetlands, ponds, etc., mainly protect the unpolluted freshwater environment, wetland ecosystems and diverse species in the fluctuation zone, especially rare and endangered waterfowl, fish and wetland plants. Its total area is 3,686 hectares, which is divided into the three townships of Jinfeng, Houba and Qukou in Kaixian County. It is bounded by the first-level ridges on both sides of the Pengxi River and consists of reservoir waters, river waters, ebb and flow zone wetlands, ponds, etc. It consists of 382 hectares of permanent water area and 1920 hectares of wetland area in the ebb and flow zone.
