Introduction to Lao She in Chongqing: During the Anti-Japanese War, Lao She lived, worked and wrote in Chongqing. The experience of this period provided rich material for his literary creation. Lao She arrived in Chongqing in August 1938, and left Chongqing in 1946 to give lectures in the United States. During this period, Mr. Lao She lived successively at the Youth Association of Daliangzi, the Xin Shu Bao newspaper office at No. 88 Baixiang Street, and Nanquan. In 1943, he settled in Lao She’s old residence at No. 61 Tiansheng New Village, Beibei today. This is where Mr. Lao She lived for the longest time and has been preserved. A relatively intact place.
