Introduction to the Goddess Temple: The Wushan Goddess is both the incarnation of beauty and the representative of kindness. Since the Tang Dynasty, a Goddess Temple has been built here to commemorate her merits in teaching books to help Dayu control floods. During the Anti-Japanese War, the temple of the goddess was destroyed, and the festival to worship the goddess on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month gradually disappeared from the public. The ruins of the Goddess Temple are submerged cultural relics in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and have been rebuilt as a tourist attraction at the mouth of Wu Gorge on the north bank of the Yangtze River.
