Introduction to the former residence of General Xie Zhaoqi: Xie Zhaoqi was born in Zhongshan City, Wuping, and was a graduate of the sixth batch of Huangpu Military Academy. He stayed in Britain after the Northern Expedition. After graduating and returning to China, he became one of the few generals under Chiang Kai-shek who received a complete Western military education. From September 1954 to March 1957, he served as the fifth principal of the Huangpu Military Academy of the Taiwan Kuomintang. During this period, Chiang Kai-shek's eldest grandson, Jiang Xiaowen, was studying in the military academy. He was angrily expelled by Xie Zhaoqi for repeated serious violations of discipline and rules, thus offending the powerful. Chiang Kai-shek and his son remained calm on the surface, but the next year (March 1957) they were dismissed from their posts on charges of "espionage" and retired. They later served in various places in Taiwan, emigrated to the United States in 1992, and died of illness in 1995.
