Introduction to the Great Compassion Hall: Enter the mountain gate, facing the Great Compassion Hall, with wing rooms on both sides. There are ancient trees in the courtyard and the environment is quiet. There are sandalwood-type, tripod-type and tower-type incense burners in the courtyard. The Dabei Hall is the main building of the existing Chongshan Temple, standing on a generous platform. There is a flat "convex" shaped platform in front of the hall. The hall is 7 rooms wide and 4 rooms deep. It has double eaves resting on the top of the mountain and far-reaching eaves. It is trimmed with yellow and green glazed tiles and is nearly 20 meters high. The surrounding eaves and columns all slope inward. The eaves chess is divided into two layers: the upper part is heavy with five steps, and the lower part is single with seven steps. The glazed beasts on the side ridges of the roof are lined up, and the image is lifelike. What’s interesting is that there is a sword thrust diagonally across the back of the two owls. Legend has it that there are owl fishes in the East China Sea, and their tails create waves and rain, which can extinguish fires. Chinese wooden buildings are flammable, so a kissing beast was made in the image of an owl and placed on the house to avoid fire. Because he was afraid that the owl would "leave his post without permission", he put a sword through his back to restrain him.
