Introduction to the Neolithic Age: There are more than 50 Neolithic cultural sites or locations discovered in Chuxiong Prefecture, all of which are in the late Neolithic Age, about 4,000 years ago. Relics have been found in 10 counties and cities across the state. Because they are mainly distributed in the Jinsha River Basin in our state, they are classified as the Jinsha River Basin type in the classification of Neolithic culture in Yunnan. This type of culture is represented by the Dadunzi site in Yuanmou County, Chuxiong and the Caiyuanzi site in Yongren County.
