Introduction to Smith Tower: The Smith Tower was designed and built in 1914 by the architectural firm of Gaggin & Gaggin. This neoclassical architectural style quickly became popular in Seattle and became the most popular architectural style in the city. Since its construction, the Smith Tower has been the tallest building west of the Mississippi River for many years. On the third floor of Smith Tower, there is a gift from the Qing Dynasty, the last feudal dynasty of China, to Mr. Smith, the owner of Smith Tower: the House of China. The famous wishing chair is placed in the China House. Legend has it that if a single woman makes a wish sincerely on the chair, she will find her right husband.
