Introduction to the National Museum of Denmark: The National Museum of Denmark was built in 1743. Its predecessor was a palace built for the Danish Crown Prince and Princess. Exhibits in the museum cover Danish history from the Stone Age, Viking Age, the Middle Ages, as well as the Renaissance and modern times. The museum collects many world classical cultural relics, and the 1890 Victorian apartment gives people a feeling of traveling back in time. The museum also houses many famous Danish national treasures, such as the more than 3,000-year-old Sun Chariot, the Egtved Girl from the Bronze Age, and some amazing discoveries from the Viking Age that have only recently been shown to the public. Also of interest is the well-preserved remains of a “woman,” whose remains date back to the early years of the first century AD.
