Introduction to the Provincial Art Museum: The Provincial Art Museum of Cordoba (Museo de Bellas Artes) is located next to Piazza Pony Square in the former Charity Hospital. It houses the largest collection of art treasures in Andalusia. Most notable among them are paintings by Valdes Real, Zuba, Murillo, Palominos, Antonio de Castillo and Juan de Peñalosa; Sculptures by Juan de Meza and Mateo Inuria.
The museum's annex is the Julio Romero de Dores Museum, named after the painter of the same name. It also houses many works by the master of Córdoba painting. He also became one of Spain's most popular painters because of his highly symbolic and popular appearance and a certain mystique about him.
