Introduction to Kwun Tee Temple: Turn right at the end of Tai O Market Street and you will find Kwun Tee Temple. The Guandi Temple was built during the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty (1488-1505) and enshrines Guansheng Emperor (i.e. "Guan Di" or "Guan Gong") who represents "loyalty" and "martial arts". There are statues of the emperor and Liu Bei's mounts in the temple, and there are portraits of Hua Tuo and the God of Wealth at the altar. There is a stone tablet erected on the bay opposite the Kwan Tai Temple. It was erected in 1902 to mark the dividing line between China and Hong Kong. It is also one of the two existing stone tablets on Lantau Island.
