Lecture Hall Introduction: With the Grand Lecture Hall as the center, the surrounding forest springs, Benten Tendo, Jizo Hall, Bell Tower, Chuan School, etc. are collectively called the Da Chuan Court. These halls were built with donations from the monks of Yamaguchi Gento in commemoration of the 1000th anniversary of the death of Emperor Daigo. The main lecture hall houses the largest wooden eight-foot-tall seated statue of Amida Tathagata in Daigoji Temple built in the late Heian Dynasty. In addition, there are also enshrined the seated statues of the Great Sun Tathagata, the Great General of Shensha, Mahakala and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
