Statue introduction: In the square in front of the church, there is a statue of Hugo Grotius (1583-1645), the "Father of International Law". Grotius was a pioneer of modern Western bourgeois thought, and his famous work "The Right to War and Peace" is an important work on international law. After his death, he was buried in the new church. He was also the only non-royal member to be buried in the new church, which shows his high status in the hearts of the Dutch.
