Introduction to Christian VIII’s Palace: Christian VIII’s Palace is located northwest of the castle. It was built from 1750 to 1760 and was purchased by the royal family in 1794.
The interior of the palace was originally decorated in the French royal style, and although traces of Rococo can be seen in a few rooms today, the decoration of most rooms has changed significantly with the times. The current palace mainly serves as the Queen's library and exhibition hall for the palace collection.
