Introduction to blue hemimorphite: Hemimorphite is produced in the oxidation zone of lead-zinc sulfide deposits. It is generally the product of sphalerite oxidation and is symbiotic with smithsonite, cerussite, limonite, etc. The upper limit of stability is 250°C, above which it transforms into willemite Zn2[SiO4].
