Introduction to Edinburgh Castle: Edinburgh Castle stands on the top of an extinct volcanic rock with three steep sides at an altitude of more than 130 meters. It is steep and majestic. It is regarded as the spiritual symbol of Edinburgh and even Scotland.
The castle was first built by King Edwin in the seventh century to defend against enemies. In the 11th century, Malcolm III built a palace inside it. Later, the ruler built the Margaret Church in the castle. Therefore, it is the oldest building in Edinburgh and the oldest church in Scotland. The castle displays ancient cannons, weapons, military uniforms, crowns from past Scottish dynasties, swords and other historical relics. Climb up the castle walls and have a panoramic view of the river flowing through the city, the vast North Sea and the beautiful scenery of Edinburgh.
