Introduction to the Abu Simbel Temple: The Abu Simbel Temple, the Temple of Ramses II, was excavated as a whole on the same mountain. On the front of the temple are four giant cliff stone statues of Ramses II. The statues are 20 meters high, facing the east and sitting against the mountain. They maintain the traditional posture of ancient Egyptian statue carvings. Next to the statues are engraved with his mother, wife, Figurines of children.
