Street introduction: The Erawan Buddha is one of the most popular places of worship in Thailand. It is located at the junction of Ratchadamri Road and Phloen Chit Road in Erawan, central Bangkok, close to the Grand Hyatt Hotel and Sogo Department Store. The Erawan Shrine was built in 1956. It is said that when the Erawan Hotel (the predecessor of the Grand Hyatt Hotel) was being built, a series of unfortunate industrial accidents occurred, and many local workers died mysteriously. Therefore, the owner was invited to come to Major General Luang Suwei Champei to inspect and follow his suggestions. Later, the Erawan Buddha altar was built near the construction site to worship the Erawan Buddha and bless everyone. After that, there were no more unfortunate industrial accidents. The hotel was later demolished, but the Erawan Shrine remains to this day.
