Introduction to the Statue of the Lady: The iconic sculpture of Liangzi Island. It is said that more than a thousand years ago, this place was originally Gaotang County. Due to changes in the earth's crust, it turned into a land of marshes. On the eve of the subsidence, a mother, Meng Hongyu, and her son, Liu Runhu, noticed signs that the area was about to subside. The mother and son quickly notified the villagers to evacuate. As soon as everyone ran up the mountain, the sky became dark, sand and rocks flew, heavy rain fell, landslides, and the ground collapsed in an instant. Gaotang County sank and turned into a large lake. In order to thank the villagers who survived this disaster, the people here named the lake "Niangzi Lake" in order to thank the two women for reporting the news.
