Introduction to the Old Bridge: The Old Bridge (Ponte Vecchio) was first built in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 14th century. It is the oldest of the seven bridges across the Arno River. According to legend, the famous poet Dante met his lover Beatrice on this bridge.
