Introduction to the Gallery of Kings: The Gallery of Kings (Galerie des Rois) is located above the arch and displays the 28 kings of Judea and Israel during the Old Testament period. In 1793, the people of Paris during the Revolution mistook them for images of their hated French king and destroyed them. The original statue was mistaken for the French king during the French Revolution in 1793, so it was destroyed and demolished. It was not found until 1977 and is now stored in the Cluny Museum (Musee de Cluny). Later, the statue was re-engraved and put back. in situ.
