An introduction to the anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign: In November 1930, the Kuomintang launched its first large-scale encirclement and suppression campaign against the Red Front Army and the Central Soviet Area. Subsequently, in February 1931, June 21, 1931, May 1932, and early 1933, the Kuomintang continued its second to fifth encirclement and suppression campaigns. Among the five encirclement and suppression campaigns, the first four ended in victory for the Red Army. However, the fifth time, after a year of hard fighting, they failed to achieve victory against the "encirclement and suppression" campaign. Finally, in October 1934, the central leadership and the main force of the Red Army were hastily ordered to withdraw from the base area.
