Introduction to the Red Army's Long March: In September 1935, Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai led the First Front Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. During the 25,000-mile Long March, they crossed the snowy mountains and grasslands and arrived at Lazikou. After two days of fierce and bloody battles with the Kuomintang defenders in Gansu, they succeeded unexpectedly and completely conquered the Lazikou natural barrier in the early morning of September 17, completely ruining the Kuomintang's plot to prevent the Red Army from marching north to fight against Japan.
