Introduction to the Gion Festival: The Gion Festival held from July 16th to July 29th every year is hosted by Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto. It is also one of the three major festivals in Kyoto and one of the famous events in Kyoto. One, the best part was the parade of floats on the second day.
The Zhuyuan Festival originated in the late 9th century and was originally intended to pray for the expulsion of the plague. On the night of the 16th, old-style families in the town hung magic lamps and green curtains under the eaves, spread mats, decorated flowers, and erected screens to add splendor to the festival. On the 17th, the colorful spear floats paraded through the streets, bringing the festival atmosphere to a climax. The flower umbrella parade uses the flower umbrella as the centerpiece of the Gion drum, and processions such as samurai warriors, child samurai, herons, miso-grilled tofu, and manzhan jumpers parade from Yasaka Shrine to Temple Street and Shijo Gyosho. It's a gorgeous and beautiful queue. The grand parade on the 17th is the climax of this ceremony. On the day of the parade, people push a huge tower made of wood and covered with ancient fabrics.
