Introduction to Grignan Castle: The majestic Grignan Castle was built in the 11th century and was originally used for defense. It is one of the most important Renaissance buildings in southern France. After her daughter married and moved into the castle, the Marchioness of Sevigny took 15 days at a time to travel south by carriage from Paris and stayed there for 14 months at a time. She died in Grignan Castle in 1696.
