Introduction to the Gospel Hall: The Gospel Hall is a typical Chinese-style building, a courtyard with a patio inside.
After the signing of the "Xinchou Treaty", various countries sent missionaries to China to preach and intensify their penetration into China. In order to receive foreign missionaries, the prefect of Xiangyang built this Chinese-style villa here and named it "Gospel Hall". Every midsummer, the prefect of Xiangyang accompanied the missionaries to climb mountains to spend the summer, regardless of the high mountains and long roads. In the summer of 1942, just before Mr. Li Zongren came here for summer vacation, the Fifth Theater Command funded the restoration of this villa as a residence for Li Zongren and his subordinates.
