Cemetery introduction: During the Cultural Revolution, the National Memorial Cemetery was severely damaged as a "reactionary four olds", and a large number of tombstones and tombs were destroyed. After the Cultural Revolution, a National Memorial Cemetery Restoration Committee and a Planning and Construction Team were established in October 1984. Construction started in December of the same year to restore the Martyrs' Shrine and the cemetery gate to their original appearance. Du Maosheng, a Tengchong citizen, volunteered to collect the destroyed monuments from the hillside. The inscriptions were identified one by one, and the information was searched and verified, so that the heroic name of the martyrs could be known to the world.
