Introduction to Boai Road: The most prosperous commercial street in Lao Haikou, named in commemoration of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s “fraternity” spirit. This old street located in the northeast of Haikou City was an ancient street in the city. It was renamed Boai Road in 1924. In 1966, it was renamed Dongfanghong Road, and in 1981, the name Boai Road was restored again. Street shops sell home appliances, small commodities, clothing, flowers, gifts, etc., and have a strong sense of life. Running through Boai Road are the East and West Gate Markets. The east gate is a seafood and dry goods market, while the west gate is an antique street, with large and small antique stalls set up along the street.
