Introduction to Waimea Bay: Waimea Bay (Waimea Bay) is located on the world-famous North Coast. In the early days of big wave surfing in the 1950s, adventurous surfers began to challenge Waimea (and the west coast). The sport of big wave surfing was born due to the powerful winter waves at Makaha Beach. Hawaii's big wave season runs from November to February, attracting the world's best male and female surfers. The Eddie Aikau Big Wave Surfing Memorial Tournament is located here, but it is only held when the waves are big.
