Introduction to the Philosopher's Trail: The Philosopher's Trail can also be called the Philosopher's Trail. It is a walking trail about two kilometers long north of the Neckar River in Heidelberg, halfway up the southern slope of the Holy Mountain (Heiligenberg). Because of its pleasant scenery and tranquility suitable for thinking, it has been favored by professors, scholars and philosophers in history. They often wander here to capture the inspiration of their thoughts. Today, the trail is still a good place to overlook the old town of Heidelberg from across the bank. In the Philosopher's Garden halfway along the path, there are monuments to the poets Friedrich Hölderlin and Joseph von Eichendorff. The western section of the trail also houses what is now the Institute of Physics of the University of Heidelberg. Because the Philosopher's Trail is on the southern slope, it has plenty of sunshine and rich animal and plant resources. Be aware that there is only one small kiosk open seasonally on the Philosopher's Trail. If you need drinks and food, please bring your own.
