Introduction to Salamanca: Salamanca is the largest handicraft center in Hobart. Many cafes, small restaurants and cold drink shops are located in these converted abandoned warehouses. The old Georgian warehouses were once a gathering place for sailors, whalers and craftsmen. Today, the Salamanca Market every Saturday is Hobart's most popular open-air market.
