Introduction to the Confucian Temple: The Tongjiang Confucian Temple was built in the seventh year of Jiayou in the Song Dynasty and was later destroyed. The eaves are suspended from the mountain, retaining the foundation and large wooden structure of the original building. The roof is decorated with gray plain tube tiles, with pottery clouds, dragons, flowers and birds, curly grass hanging down the ridge, fish and dragon kisses, and a tower-shaped treasure top. The entire building has a dignified shape, rigorous structure, carved beams and painted buildings, and is highly artistic and ornamental. It is one of the relatively complete Ming and Qing ancient buildings in Northeast Sichuan.
