Introduction to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston: The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is the oldest museum in Texas and the largest museum in the south-central United States. The museum has two main exhibition buildings, the Beck Building and the Law Building (on both sides of Main Street), an open-air sculpture garden (east of Montrose Street), an art school and a library. There are more than 50,000 exhibits, and there are often various special exhibitions and lectures, as well as movies on weekends.
Opening hours: Monday: Closed (Sculpture Garden open) Tuesday and Wednesday 10am to 5pm, Thursday (free): 10am to 9pm
Admission: $7, 15 and up Half price for those under or 65 and over. The sculpture garden is free.
