Introduction to the protected area: In July 2000, Hengshui Lake was approved by the State Forestry Administration and the provincial government as the Hebei Province Hengshui Lake Wetland and Birds Provincial Nature Reserve. In June 2003, it was approved as a national nature reserve. Nowadays, more and more tourists come here to see this first lake in southern Beijing.
