Introduction to the fifty-six ethnic totem poles: In the middle of the altar, 56 9.9-meter-high ethnic totem poles are concentrically surrounded, symbolizing the great unity of the Chinese nation. The stone pillars are in the form of positive carvings, which concisely display the rich and colorful national cultural characteristics of each of China's fifty-six ethnic groups. The carving patterns were designed by Jimei University and approved by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.
