Introduction to Laozu Temple: Laozu Temple, formerly known as Ziyunshan Temple, is located under the Lotus Peak of Ziyun Mountain. According to historical records, Laozu Temple was founded during the Taihe period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty by the eminent Indian monk Chisui Baozhang. It is said that Zen Master Baozhang came to China more than 300 years before Bodhidharma, the first ancestor of Zen Buddhism. When he transformed into Ziyun, it happened to be the fourth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, Daoxin Daoxin, and the fifth ancestor Hongren, Abbot Po'e and Feng Maoshan. Because of their young age, Zen Master Baozhang came to China more than 300 years ago. As he is tall and old, everyone calls him the ancestor, and respects the Jialan he created as the ancestor temple. Laozu Temple is surrounded by towering peaks, towering rocks, shrouded clouds and mist, green pines and bamboos, and beautiful scenery. It is a rare wonderland and summer resort on earth, and is known as the "Purple Cloud Buddha Country".
